DAY 1

1.  Introduction to MSA

     -  General MSA guidelines.

2.  Sources of Measurement Error
     -  Gage/instrument calibration deficiencies
     -  Gage/instrument usage or damage
     -  Judgmental error

3.  Variation in Measurement Systems
     -  A review of sources of measurement system variation
              - Types of evaluations of measurement uncertainty
     -  The effects of too much variation in measurements

4.  Procedures for Assessing Measuring Systems (measured data)
     -  Determining stability, bias, repeatability,
         reproducibility, linearity
     -  Analysis of variance
     -  Graphical techniques

5.  Measurement System Linearity Stability
     -  How to measure gage/instrument linearity
          -  graphically
          -  mathematically
     -  How to evaluate gage/instrument stability using
         a control chart
     -  Dealing with gage/instrument linearity and stability problems

DAY 2

6.  Repeatability & Reproducibility
     -  How to conduct a GR&R study
     -  R&R analysis for non-destructive measurements
     -  Use of ANOVA for GR&Rs
     -  R&R analysis for destructive measurements
     -  R&R analysis for attribute measurements

7.  Procedures for Assessing Measuring Systems (attribute data)
     -  How to handle attribute data studies short methods
     - Long method
     - Special requirements
     - Implications for the ongoing application of tests

8.  Improving Measurement Systems
     -  Using a problem-solving approach to find the root causes
         of repeatability and reproducibility problems.
     -  Using the GR&R data to help direct the problem-solving effort
     -  Ongoing application of MSA
     -  Ongoing monitoring of personnel involved with testing

The course is highly interactive; participants will be guided through the various steps of the course and will be involved in extensive exercising and few numbers of examples and case studies. The course incorporates:

Note: Participants must have basic understanding of computational math, partial
          understanding of elementary applied statistics and basic background in
          statistical process control is important.

COURSE FACILITATOR - MR. NAZARI HARON

Mr. Nazari graduated from Warwick University, U.K. with a Master degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, and he also had attended formal training in Toyota Production System, in Toyota Aichi plant, AGC Co., Nagoya, Japan. His specialty is in Lean Manufacturing with over 18 years of hands-on experience both in technical and management in multi-national automotive-based companies with TS16949 working environment.

He is a certified trainer by PSMB (Cert No. TTT-0025) and Competency Training Institute of Australia (CTI) (Cert No. 1853) and a course leader for Lean Production and Productivity & Quality Skill Training Series. He also provides consulting services on Lean/ TPS, 5S, TPM, Kaizen, SMED, Cellular System, Mixed Production, Factory Layout Planning and Small Group Activities.

He had experience in installation and implementation of ISO/ TS16949 , including conducting internal training for several major TS certified companies including Panasonic Electronic Devices (M) Sdn Bhd, Sapura Automotive Group of companies and several others.
